He hated the tentative way Bucky moved, as if Steve would push him away at any time. Never again, he old himself firmly. Never again would he give Bucky reason to doubt his welcome by Steve's side. He dropped his arm over Bucky's hips, pulling his friend firmly close after Bucky finished settling against him.
"You don't have to thank me for his...you never have to thank me for this." He whispered, dropping his head so that his chin rested on damp clean hair that still held the scent of the conditioner Bucky used. Sandalwood, he thought it might be and it was nice. "Sleep..." He murmured again as his own eyes dropped and his voice deepened, one hand reaching up and around to rub at Bucky's nape. "I'll still be here in the morning."
