Steve noticed after the first one with an audience so subsequent ones were always semi-private. Having to face off against against the Winter Soldier for real instead of a friendly spar with his friend was unsettling to say the least. He'd survived because he'd had prior experience against the way the Soldier fought. The gym unfortunately had to be redone entirely with the amount of damaged they'd done to the surroundings during their fight and thankfully Bucky had retained enough control not to take the fight outside of the gym.

He couldn't get a hold of the right arm, not with the way it kept trying to break hold of his armlock around Bucky and it was all he could do to pin the left arm down. So he bucked up with his own torso towards to one side the best he could with Bucky's legs still clamped around his in an effort to roll over. If he could pin Bucky down like this, it would be excellent.
