He would always prefer to be warm, even hot over the cold. He still remembered cold New York winters before the war, where indoor heating consisted of a mixed coal/wood fireplace that he had to constantly get up and refuel every three or four hours. And he could never afford quite enough fuel so it was always on the chilly side and the walls were the type that were cold in winter and hot in the summer. Seventy years spent frozen in ice didn't help. With the serum, his body temperature ran hotter now but he stilled preferred a warmer temperature for his apartment and warm blankets and clothing in the winter. It was all in the mind he knew, but he couldn't make himself be otherwise. There was Bucky to cuddle with in bed most nights now and even without clothing Bucky kept him warm enough. For now anyway. And he liked the skin to skin contact more than he could admit.
"Still haven't developed clairvoyant abilities overnight." Steve answered dryly. He did appreciate Bucky coming for him, always would. And if push comes to shove, the rest of the Avengers would come too. Then there were no more words but him and Bucky going at each other with the pillows. He wasn't quite as hard on his makeshift weapon as Bucky was but there were still his fair share of feathers scattered around the bed and on his hair from his pillow. He made another mental note to recompense the hotel for the damage as well as the extra cleanup. "Yes." He sighed at the thought of more HYDRA bases hidden around. "There's always more heads to kill." He put the pillow aside as well and reached out to pick out a feather from Bucky's hair.
